How To Update Infinix Hot 4 X557 To Android 7.0 Nougat



Infinix Hot 4 X557 came out late last year and this wonderful device was launched with android 6.0 marshmallow. After the release of android 7.0 marshmallow for infinix note 3, lots of infinix hot 4 users cried on the infinix forum for a nougat update and now their cries have been heard, today I will be sharing with you guys a detailed tutorial on how to upgrade infinix hot 4 X557 to android 7.0 nougat.

Infinix mobile are really trying when it comes to updating their devices, cause Instead of them releasing a new device with that update making their users go out of their way to purchase similar devices with just the android version making a difference, they make sure their customers satisfaction comes first.

Now before we proceed, I would like you to know that there are three ways with which you can upgrade your devices and they are listed below.

  • Via OTA upgrade
  • Via Infinix SP flash tool
  • Via TF card upgrade
Listed above are the three methods with which you can use to perform a successful software upgrade, But its advisable you use the TF card upgrade method .

-Via OTA (Over The Air) Upgrade;Majority of us have gotten used to this form of update, though for those whom their device have been rooted, it is advisable you unroot it before carrying out an OTA update so as to avoid stories that touches eg; bootloop or bricking your device.

-Infinix SP Flash Tool;Now here comes the complex part, before you proceed with this, you have to make sure you have the requirements which are listed below;
-Once downloaded Launch the SP flash tool and run as Administrator

-Then Click browse, then locate and select the scatter file for android 7.0nougat ROM, Once selected, click on download button on SP flash tool

-After which, turn off your device and connect to PC via USB cable , once connected, the upgrade process should begin and you will see a yellow meter counting down.

-Once it gets to 100%, wait till you see a "green good mark sign" before you unplug the USB cable from your device, then switch on your device, First boot takes about 10minutes, so be patient.

-Upgrading Via TF Card;This method is so straight to the point, there is no need for you to to start downloading USB device driver softwares also you don't need a PC for this, All you have to do is download the TF card update from the link provided below and move it to the root of your SD card.

-Open your app drawer, locate and tap on "system update".

-Tap on the three dots on the top right hand corner and click "update from local", Once it opens your files in storage, locate and select the TF card file which you downloaded on your SD card.

-After selecting it, click on install, your device will switch off and the upgrade process for android 7.0 nougat will begin (make sure your device is charged above 50% before carrying out this process). Once the upgrade has been completed, device should boot on its own.
